Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies

Procedure:

1. Combine cherries and orange juice in a pot, bring to boil and cook until most of the juice has evaporated, stir often; set aside until cooled
2. In stand mixer bowl with paddle attachment, lightly cream butter and sugars
3. Combine eggs and vanilla, add to butter mix in 2 addition, scraping the bowl well in between additions
4. Sift together baking soda, salt and flour, add to the mix
5. Just before the flour is all combined, add chocolate and cooled, boiled cherries
6. Mix until homogenized; chill until firm
7. Scoop to desired size, press gently to about 1” thickness, sprinkle with sea salt
8. Bake at 350F, bake time will vary depending on size

1 cup dried tart cherries
2 cups orange juice
3 ¾ stick room temperature butter
1 ½ cup granulated sugar
1 ½ cup brown sugar
3 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
5 cups all purpose flour
¾ cup dark chocolate, chopped
¾ cup milk chocolate, chopped
